This phase cost £3.6 million but will anyone use it, its one of the steepest hills coming out of Rotherham. Just totally disjointed cycle lanes.

A cycle business that has existed since 1987 has had to close because of the disruption his business creating cycle lanes.

  1. Think this is bad you want to see the traffic from the cycle lanes chesterfield council have put in and now is causing some serious traffic and iv not seen one bike go down it yet these cycle lanes are absolutely terrible

  2. Thanks for the update Tim. How sadly ironic…Sondec have been there for years too. To be honest, even if the installation of cycle lanes had taken place a few years ago, if wouldn’t have made much difference to this or indeed any other small business. Such a shame. Keep up the good work mate.

  3. Maybe the owner of the shop should sue the council for the forced closure due to councils actions of putting cycle lanes in disrupting footfall to his shop. In fact everyone who's business has failed due to council's actions should be suing. It's unacceptable that councils are getting away with this crap!

  4. there’s a road near me that merges on a corner now for a new cycle lane and accidents have quadrupled with only 1 bike an hour using the new lane… idiots making improvements

  5. It’s very sad what Rotherham has become. I used to live there until 1990 and I can’t believe how much has been closed down. It’s nothing like how it used to be 😢
