Hello bike people,

TLDR: Buying a Tumbleweed Sunliner V2. Only used Shimano on my Surlys. Time to SRAM Eagle 90?

Longish

I’ve owned a few surly bikes now, all with traditional hangers and been a big fan. An opportunity has come up where I can get a Sunliner V2. I’m a huge fan of Tumbleweed, I own a Prospector and love it!

I’m at the point where I’m starting to buy everything, and the one thing I’ve been stuck on is my Drive Train options. I’ve only used Shimano, but since the Sunliner V2 is UDH, I’m thinking maybe it’s time to explore SRAM Eagle 90 or another Transmission option.

Since I’ve never used SRAM I’m not really sure what the pros/cons are.

Wondering if anyone here should shed some light and advice.

Pic for attention. It’s a cool Australian bird I saw out cycling a few months ago. Still no idea what it is 😂😂

  1. I think that’s a wedge tailed eagle! My favourite bird.

I don’t have any input on drivetrain. I always choose shimano. It’s tried and true. Why change if it ain’t broke?
