Did I do a good enough job to keep all of my components dry? The last time I rode this bike in the rain, I didn’t cover anything & the battery shortened itself out, a $700 mistake.

I worry because I often forget to close the charging port when I’m done, and worry about rain getting in there (near the bottom bracket).
Luckily, it never rains in Southern California (except for the next few days).

Keep it indoors and ride a regular bike in the rain

Blimey… I rode my Tongsheng DIY eBike through a thigh high flood (don’t do this folks, bad for bike, bad for humans) and then continued the 6 miles home. Never considered that a proper eBike wouldn’t cope with a bit of rain.

When it’s wet the majority of the water, and all of the grit, grime, oil and other crap, is coming off the road. Full length fenders make a world of difference to keeping your bike clean and free from dirt.

Erm, if your electric vehicle shorts out in the rain then maybe it needs a recall.
