  1. Does your fork have eyelets down near the hub?

Can you do something different with the strut attaching the rack to the fork, so the rack sits lower?

  2. i agree that it seems a bit high. The crown race arm can be flipped, but it can also be flattened. We use the bench top vise to flatten and/or bend that arm all the time. It can take a couple of bends without compromising the alloy.

If you are hesitant to manipulate that arm, you can always replace it with another one.

But yeah that rack should come down at least half that distance, You will still have plenty of room for a larger tire. The lower position not only balances better, but will keep larger items away from your drop bar shifters

For now, keep it at that height, You can alway lower it later and cut off more material. If you cut low now and want it higher you will have to buy new struts.

  3. Looks great to me. I’ve been looking for a fork very similar to this. When I google, I can’t find this one. Where did you get it from?

  4. Is that a carbon fork? Are you sure it’s built for a rack like that and not just fenders and cages?

  5. What do you plan to put on it? If anything heavier than ~3lb, it seems like it’d be wobbly at that height and placement. I’d definitely go lower and closer to the fork crown, but TBH that whole set-up looks like it’d be wobbly with any weight on it.

Only drop it if needed. It’s a bag support so make sure it supports a bag. I have a bunch of cool front racks that sit so low that they don’t support my bag.
