I read a couple comments in a different post about how difficult getting through snow is right now. so i thought i’d share my learning curve.

i usually avoid the trail center; it’s hard, rutted, and a bumpy ride. the stuff on the edges, i float on it.

not today.

if you follow the curve, you can see where the front tire went out from under me and i fell off the bike.

every ride, i expect the trail is not the same, different from the last ride. today’s was very different.

the snow did one of two things. it either gave out, causing my front tire to veer into deeper snow.

in deeper snow, i usually float on top. today, my tire sunk and the snow became a wall. pedaling in it felt like wet sand.

i continued and biked a little over an hour. i didn’t fall anymore but lost balance more than i cared to count. each time, i laughed, got back up and kept going. had a blast.

over the hour my average speed was 3.96 mph.
