The other day, my bike slid on the bench it was leaned against and chipped its paint. It was really a minor impact, but regardless, I checked the carbon itself just to be sure it is not affected and luckily it is only the paint that is ruined. Also, I was lucky to find and save the part that was ‘pealed off’ during the impact.

My question is if there is a way (and is it worth) to glue this old part of paint back somehow. As you can see on one of the photos, it almost looks unnoticeable that way.

Alternatively, I found some online store in UK that apparently sells ‘original color’ paint and primer pen. Not sure what would the outcome of this fix be as I don’t have any experience with these repairs. However, somehow I have impression that gluing the color part back instead (if possible at all) would look much cleaner.

Thank you in advance for your help and recommendations, and sorry on my English.

  1. Goldfinger Metallic Compound mimics Japanese Kintsugi…could be a cool option for your unfortunate predicament.

  2. Yes giant uk has partnered with touch up paint factory for the last couple of years. Where you can search your bike and get the exact touch up paint colours.

You would have to get in contact with giant in your country to see if they have a company available locally.
