I REALLY don't need another bike project right now but I was at the goodwill down the street from my house and they had a Miyata 310 with a full Dura-Ace group set (except the cranks which are Ultegra). I'm guessing someone upgraded it before since I think these are much newer than the bike's age and I'm guessing the 310 didn't come with Dura-Ace but feel free to correct me.

From the Serial Number I think it's a 1985. Beautiful color and exactly my size. I'm pretty stoked on this find. $100 is a bit more than I'd usually pay for a bike at a thrift store, but it was worth it for the Dura-Ace hubs alone.

Needs a thorough cleaning and the back wheel has a broken spoke, but besides that it's in better condition than many of my newer bikes.

Rear tire clearance looks like it might take 32s? Could have it dimpled to take more lol. Front clearance is pretty big. Might leave it as a road bike and turn my current Bridgestone RB2 into more of a gravel/touring bike. We'll see!

Get to know it before you change it too much – but the gravel king 28 rear with a 32 front is a great vintage road bike combo!

  2. my friend has one of these and it’s a great frame. the rear is best kept as a 28mm tire IMHO. anything bigger on theirs and it felt like we were pushing it. the 7700 dura ace is an absolute score though. i have that era mechs, cranks and BB on one of my street fighters and i don’t think shimano ever topped it (yeah i’m a big shimano 9 speed fan) best tip i can give is just have fun with this bike.
