I’ve been looking for a nice carbon road bike after riding aluminum single speeds for a while. I came across this 2017 Madone on marketplace. Wondering if the price they’re asking is reasonable ($1975 USD)
I think the bike looks beautiful apart from the chip on the vector wing.
Looking to hear some feedback/any tips what to look for.

For $2k I don’t know if I’d want to buy a decade old bike with proprietary brakes and a chip on the wing. It’s not a horrible price but you could probably get something brand new with electric 105 and hydraulic disc brakes for a little over 3k if you wait for a sale.
This is a hard no for me. This was the first generation of frame designed around fully internal cabling. For electronic groupsets it was okay, but an absolute disaster for mechanical groups. Unless you’re excited about long hours replacing cables, or extremely expensive service bills in the future I wouldn’t even consider it.
