I’ve had this ride planned for some time. I normally take the direct route home from Doncaster (30 minute east coast main line train service out from York) but had wanted to see if I could find an ‘off road’ ride to the west of Doncaster then up towards York. I think my planning skills need a little work ‘cos sections of this ride for sure were hard going with an occasional hike-a-bike. However another route now done. Next time I will make more use of the sustrans network. But I recon this run was not too dissimilar to a lot of the riding that I should be doing in New Zealand in February 2026!
