We take the slows roads through the heart of the Loire Valley, known as the “Garden of France” The journey combines medieval fortresses, Renaissance châteaux, picturesque villages, and vineyard-dotted countryside — all perfectly suited for slow travel by motorhome, in this video we visit

LochesOur first stop is in Loches, a lesser-known but captivating medieval town.
We stay Camping Le Citidelle, we stay three nights, a really nice site within easy walking access to all the main sights.

Amboise
It’s just a 45 minute drive from Loches to Amboise through scenic countryside roads.
We stayed three nights at the Camping de l’Île d’Or, a spacious and well-equipped campsite located on an island in the Loire River with a postcard-perfect view of the château.

Chinon
About an hours drive southwest to Chinon, nestled along the Vienne River.
We stayed two nights at Camping de l’Ile Auger (Camping Chinon) near the town center and riverside..

  1. 'It is really chucking it down now'………………….As a long time watcher of the BBC'S 'Time Team' archaeologial show, i've heard this exact phrase said before!!

  2. Another excellent vlog. The dates and destination details are really appreciated and set you above other channels. There is nothing more annoying than not knowing where and when travels are happening.

  3. Hi Sue and Rod, love your vlogs. So informative with no nonsense. No click bait. Been guessing what you did for work before retiring. I think history teacher. Hubby thinks you owned your own business as very fluent with computer displays and graphics

  4. We'll have to thank you for all the work you've done on all your vlogs it's quite amazing information all the editing and I have learned so much from you having traveled last year to France and Spain I'm currently booking France Spain Portugal leaving November the 7th for 3 months but without your knowledge and trust me I've taken a lot of your ideas the way you present yourself in definitely have to be one of the best of what you do on YouTube keep a fantastic work up and once again thank you

  5. We love your videos too (and certainly share your love of France)… so much so, we have been inspired to buy a camper van! Can’t wait to pick it up and start our adventures! Enjoy the rest of your current trip!😊

  6. Just found your channel. We did the Loire between 1998 and 2009 two weeks at a time during the summer camping. I became a professional gardener so summer holidays were impossible. But now we're retired with a campervan and plan to visit next summer. It's lovely to see a couple of places we've been before and filmed/narrated brilliantly.
