She said in an interview that she had thought she had a terrible run & when she finished and saw her time, she thought it was a mistake on the clock. ๐ She didnโt believe she won at first.
The more i learn about this run and athlete the more legendary it becomes. Her first time competing on skis, this was supposed to be her practice run (she had no plans of placing), she was on borrowed skis too and she thought it was a sloppy run and that the clock was an error. Insane!
This is why we love sports ๐โค

I watch her ride almost every day and always with tears of joy in my eyes. But I also recognize the two other medalists – Anna Veith and Tina Weirather.
The commentary and her reaction are also golden.

I remember that race. It was her first Super G. It was truly stunning.
And on borrowed skis…..
And since that day in Czechia we have saing: โLooking like Ledeckรก in finish line.โ whenever is someone speechless
Even more funny, Veith was already congratulated by CEO of Olympic ski association when Ledeckรก was still at the start ๐

She borrowed the skis because she wasn't prepared to take a ski race, just snowboard.. And she didn't took of her goggles because she wasn't wearing any make up for the cameras, she wasn't expecting this result.. She is a goldmine.. And very very grounded and sympathic .. โคโคโค
And then to top it off, a few days later she went out and won a golden snowboarding
It's humbling how shocked she was. Must be a really sweet girl.

Ledecka's moment was the biggest sensation I've ever experienced at the Olympics. Simply unforgettable. Especially since almost everyone had already congratulated the other rider on her victory, and then this snowboarder comes along and rides like a maniac. Incredible.
