It doesn’t get better than this. This is (literally) the peak of camping for me. On our first day of bikepacking through the French Alps, I joked to Adam that we should camp on top of a mountain. Of course, he took my joke seriously, and we soon found ourselves climbing the hardest mountain possible: six kilometers of gravel switchbacks with almost 1,000 meters of gain (~3,000 feet). However, once we made it to the top, it was incredibly rewarding to look down on the town of Die, France, where we had started 🏘️
