I cycled for the first time in Germany and felt exhilarated. I’ve always loved cycling but was apprehensive about cycling on Nigerian roads. So, when I came to Germany, I never imagined I would try it, even though the roads here are more structured. I was terrified of breaking a traffic rule, but I realized what I needed to do was shed the fear and pedal on.

Experiencing the road from the vantage point of a cyclist, obeying the traffic lights, and understanding the flow from the other side was enlightening. I appreciate how German traffic laws protect everyone, no matter their role in the traffic system. It’s amazing!
