Tall Bike

Hey all, first of all, I know this bike is gigantic! Haha

I finished this bike over the last couple of weeks using parts I had laying around and have collected over the past few years.

It’s a 1987 Maruishi RX-5. I’m running a 38T chainring up front using the original Shimano cranks and Wellgo platforms. In the rear it’s outfitted with a 11-32 cassette and a Shimano Deore 9s derailleur. I used the original bars with a riser stem, Tektro R340 knock offs from Amazon, and a Sunrace bar end shifter. The wheels are an old 700c set I took off another bike wrapped in 28c Thickslicks.

I just took it out for a short ride and it’s smooth, albeit I may need to adjust the handlebar height a bit along with the seat position.
