Hey everyone! đź‘‹
I’m planning to get into gravel biking and bikepacking this year and could use some advice. After a bunch of research, I’m down to two options around the €2,000 mark: the Cube Nuroad C:62 One and the Canyon Grizl CF 6. At 191 cm tall with a 90.5 cm inseam, I’d be sizing up to XL on both.
Since they’re basically the same price, I’m trying to figure out what the real differences are in terms of:
- Build quality
- Bikepacking suitability
- Ride feel / geometry: How do they sit on the bike? More relaxed or aggressive?
- General vibes for long rides/adventure use
I also had my eye on the Propain Terrel, but it’s priced at around €2,700, so it kind of fell off my radar — but I’m open to the idea if it’s actually worth the extra spend.
Would love to hear your honest thoughts and experiences with any of these bikes, or suggestions for similar bikes in this range. Thanks in advance — really appreciate the help! 🚲

Comment from Irem:
Speaking from memory: Grizl is going to be way more aggressive than Nuroad, in terms of both geometry and gearing. Build quality and components level should be roughly matched for any given price point, _maybe_ the slightest advantage to Cube… Or maybe it depends on where they are in model cycle and it flips? Anyways both are great bang for the buck. Bikepacking-wise, Cube’s fork is only good for their proprietary lowriders, while Grizl has a hilarious amount of standard mount points all over the place.
Propain bikes seemed cool, but were unavailable when I was doing my research.
I have the Cube, it’s awesome. Any Canyon bike is automatically disqualified for me due to the stupid amount of proprietary parts, but some people don’t mind (at least until the first issue anyway).
So I have the older version of the cube. Basically, they both have different pros and cons. Where I live (Germany) most hike shops refuse to work on canyon – so that’s not great at all. How much on the bike is proprietary, I couldn’t tell you – but if people won’t work on it, it doesn’t even have a chance to become a problem since I have a totally different problem (I also have a canyon grail).
You can’t go wrong with the cube tbh. It’s more relaxed, geometry-wise, and fyi – the fork doesn’t have as many mounts as the canyon (if you care). So in my mind, the grizl is more Bikepacking-friendly, and the cube is more of a solid, reliable all-rounder. You can’t go wrong with either, but the cube is just more “reliable” for me because of where I live. Also, I’ve found that the value for money is higher with cube. Doesn’t have the same “prestige” as other brands, but you do get more value for money.
For your purpose of riding I would definitely go with the propane. I know you only posted a picture of it and didn’t mention it in your post, but from my understanding it’s one of the best value gravel bikes, also you get down tube storage as well as all the mounting options. I might be wrong, but I also think it has bigger tire clearance
