It says a Rocky Mountain 50 CR. Not sure what year. Looks like a carbon seat post, but can’t tell if it’s full carbon. Gave a test ride and all seems to work well except upshift on rear cassette is a little finicky. Says 58 cm. Not sure if I should ride a 60 cm at 6’1”, as I ride a large frame 29er mtn bike, but the rider must have had a similar build as the set up felt great. What bike is this? Is this a good deal? Thanks Redditors!

I’ve only seen this brand in smaller outdoor outfitters like up in VT and thought they only made mountain bikes.

It’s probably ok for the price. Can’t tell what the groupset is. Might by 105 with cheaper breaks and maybe an FSA crank. The wonky shifting could be easily serviceable by calibrating the rear mech, but could be a larger issue like an old cassette and chain, or bent derailleur hanger.

Hard to make a proper assessment with these photos.

It’s clearly old, just judging by the style of the brifters with the shifting cables coming out of the sides.

Could be worth it, but just know you could have to throw $200 into it off the bat to get it riding well

Rocky Mountain is a Canadian brand that was an early leader in freestyle and downhill MTB. They briefly got into road bikes to broaden their reach, but they never really caught on. A friend had one similar to this. It was a competent bike, but nothing ground breaking. I don’t think I’d pay more than $180/$200 for it.
