Yeah my mom and my older sister on Halloween night were walking home and decided to take a shortcut and not go through the busy town so they took the woods and froze and saw a killer clown in the woods standing there looking at them and to be mindful was holding a REAL CHAINSAW and started chasing my mom and sister with it on and my sister and mom ran to the police station
It starts all the way back in 2014 on the doorbell clowns stand in front of the doorbell and stared at the doorbell or sometimes the clown would rip a pumkin
I was 2 in 2016 and I only remember one thing when my mom stills bring it up We were attacked when we was home alone she took a picture of me on the couch and saw a clown with a knife in the background and ran for the bathroom the clown was already in the house she called 911 but they got there right after my grandma died due to the clown and our dad got there right after with a Taser after he saw the camera footage we moved to Spartanburg and in 2019 we saw the same clown and moved to boiling springs
It started at the very first siting and people started joining in and became the clowns but the thing that started it was just a shooting for a horror movie
The 2016 craze started with a mix of marketing stunts and unconfirmed reports that spiraled into a global phenomenon through social media. How It Started The Green Bay Stunt: On August 1, 2016, photos went viral of a creepy clown named "Gags" wandering around Wisconsin with black balloons. It was later revealed to be a marketing stunt for an independent horror film. The South Carolina Reports: Weeks later, children in Greenville, South Carolina, reported that clowns were trying to lure them into the woods with money. Police never found evidence of this, but the news coverage caused immediate panic. The Snowball Effect: These stories exploded on Facebook and Twitter, inspiring thousands of copycats and pranksters to dress up and scare people for "likes" or viral videos. Why It Spread Social Media: Local rumors became international news instantly, making it seem like a coordinated "clown army" existed when it was actually just disconnected individuals. Coulrophobia: Clowns are a common psychological fear because their makeup masks their true emotions, making them naturally unsettling. Movie Hype: Many people incorrectly assumed it was a secret marketing campaign for the movie IT (2017), which kept the conversation going.
