I bought the fancy Wotancraft Pilot 7L bag for my T-Line, which I absolutely love! I'm surprised it's not more popular tbh. But I was frustrated that the wotancraft front frame is heavy (240g), ugly and overpriced (especially after adding customs, taxes etc). Three strikes. I say it's ugly because it has that bottom lip which is not needed for such a small bag.
I decided to design my own using a mix of 3D-printed connectors (PETG) and 10mm Carbon Fiber tubes. After a few iterations on the tolerances, I got it to a point where it’s a perfect press-fit, no glue required. Result: A rock-solid frame that weighs exactly 100g. It’s plenty stable and looks much cleaner I think!
I’m a huge believer in the Brompton community being an open one, so I’m putting this out there for free. I’ve uploaded the Fusion source files as well, so if you carry bigger bags and want to add a bottom support or tweak the width, you can do it in five minutes.

Please give me a Like – it's my first shared model on Maker World. 🙂

And in practice? In any case, it’s a great initiative.
Totally love ur story and creativity! 🫶🏼 I too 3D print – my front block. However it failed at least 15 times before it could properly bear some decent weight (of 10 kg). Do have that loading bearing reality check 👍🏼
yo that is sick! do you think u can design & make a similar one for Brompton large borough rolltop, preferably with some kind of extended base to support the bottom? mine tipped easily and i am a heavy hauler ie. grocery getter, travel bag etc. cheers!
