  1. Sadly, boring sells better than interesting. While there are those that seek to stand out, there are far more who would rather fit in. To mitigate risk, those that do experiment with interesting patterns tend to do so in small quantities, which further limits access to those who might be interested

    Do you walk around wearing Hawaiian shirts, I don’t? For some people garish isn’t stylish, I’m a cyclist not a peacock, if I don’t normally wear bold patterned clothing why would I when I’m cycling? Don’t get me wrong, there should be choice and if someone wants to express their extrovert personality through their cycling clothing then good for them.

    Also fashion is cyclical, that applies to cycling gear to an extent as well, I’m sure bolder prints and colours will make an appearance again soon enough (once sales decline of mid quality gear marketed via Instagram and ride outs sold at high end pricing all competing to be the most subdued pastel tone possible)
