Just found this subreddit!

Dad, and I started back in 2016 on a huffy and an old gary fisher, then eventually got into a ‘17 Stache 7 and ‘18 Fuel Ex 8 after a couple years. When my brother joined us during covid, we added an Xcaliber 8 and threw SLX parts at it- and until last month that’s what I’ve ridden. These days we’ve got another Stache 8, and my new (to me) 2016 Fuel Ex 9.8. Happy to answer any questions about our long term experience with the fat tire staches and fuels!

Really happy with this brand, after thousands and thousand of miles of XC, chunky stuff, mild jumps and drops, flowy trails, and just so, so much climbing. Broken a lot of things and fixed a lot of things, and riding together has been a big source of bonding for us 🙂

All of our bikes are between the 2016-2018 range, and while I’ve got no intention to move on from my beloved featherweight fuel right now, what are some big changes in the last 10 years with mountain bikes? It seems like e-bikes are everywhere, I’d love to learn about what’s new now. When we started, it seemed like 29s were still considered large, and everyone was going to clips instead of flats lol
