It was Easter Monday when we travelled to Dresden from Prague. I found the bus was cheaper and also a shorter journey time compared to the train. It was also cheaper to purchase direct to the RegioJet website rather than using 3rd party apps such as Omio.
The bus was comfortable and has decent facilities, ie own monitor for movies (similar to a plane), charging ports as well as an on board toilet (although we didn’t use this one).
The outward just took over 2 hours as the bus stopped for fuel and then as we entered Germany, we stopped at a border control. The journey back was quick (also because I fell asleep). There was no border stop. We were 15 minutes ahead of schedule perhaps because it’s a holiday and the roads weren’t congested.
We arrived around 10:30 am at Dresden. We had about 7 hours to explore the old town. Our main goal was to see Frauenkirche and to be able to get inside and appreciate the interior was the highlight.

I’m looking to do a day trip from Prague to Dresden. About how many hours did you spend in Dresden?
Nice video. I just found your channel and the videos are amazing and great, without music, just the descriptions and a really great image quality. I will subscribe
Lovely videos❤ just finished your Dubrovnik, Prague and Dresden! All on my October trip from North America. Hope you have video of Bergen and Kotor! Will check. All the best!😊
Your video was very well-structured — clear, engaging, and enjoyable to watch. The pacing kept me hooked from start to finish.
Is everything a walking distance in Dresden? If not, any tips on their public transport?
Nice and informative video. Keep it up!
