I’m thinking about doing my first real bikepacking trip around 100 km and I’d like some honest opinions from people with more experience.
I just finished a normal ride and I’ll attach the Strava screenshots with distance, elevation, average speed, and time. My bike is a vintage Trek 520, and the lowest gear ratio is 1:1, so climbing with load is something I’m a bit worried about.
Based on those numbers:
Do you think my current level is enough for a loaded 100 km ride on this setup?
How much harder will it feel once I add bags and gear, especially with a 1:1 low gear?
Should I change gearing or just train more before attempting it?
