  1. I just took fine sandpaper and sanded all the paint off. Actually did this too the entire bike.

After that I sprayed it with some clear coat. Looks great.

  2. There’s paint removers you can buy from wal mart or home improvement stores you can use. Spray on, let it sit for a bit, then wipe away after it’s bubbled up. May need some spot applications if you don’t get it all. Remove the crank arms and spray away, don’t do that when everything is on your bike still.

Otherwise sandpaper and elbow grease will do too.

  3. Fastest way is a wire wheel on an angle grinder. If you don’t have that, sandpaper works fine. There are chemical paint strippers you can use but they’re very toxic and corrosive so I try not to use them.

  4. Just about every town everywhere has an automotive/mechanic shop who will sand blast a frame clean for cheap. Just tape up the bottom bracket and head tube.

  5. Get a gel paint stripper brush it on let it sit for a few hours wash it off and use a pick to get out of the small spaces.

    As others said, paint stripper.
Important Note. Raw cranks/forks will get surface rust!
