I noticed a few small, seemingly superficial cracks developing in the rim surface while disassembling a rear wheel for parts. Is this rim still usable?
It’s done i had the same thing 6 months ago and i replaced it 3 months ago it really get worse watch out with riding or just don’t ride it

My rims have worn like that for years…on the rear rim and at every drive side spoke nipple area.
And much more severe cracks than what you have…
I continue to ride on mine…I keep an eye on them, but I ride on them anyways with absolutely no problems at all…I wait for any problems, that don’t come.
But, I use aluminum rims with 32 spokes on the rear…no issue at all. And they also stay true.

No, it will only get worse. It’s done.
Nope, it’s done
I would not risk it.
