Planning to do my first UK bikepacking trips this year. Will likely swap panniers to front forks (with Tailfin Sus fork mounts) and spread the load. Looking forward to the self sufficient adventures ahead. Anyone doing the same for 2026?

Nice, planning on a very similar Tailfin setup myself, only have the top tube bag (and Bar Cage + medium dry bag) so far as first planned trip (Traws Eryri) isn’t until June and hoping I can get a 10% off voucher or something at one of their events before then (unlikely though)!

  2. Nice, I’m jealous! My bike isn’t compatible unfortunately. Enjoy, their quality is really top notch 🙂

  3. Not a dig, but what’s the gap between the seat tube and the frame bag about? Surely you want to fill that gap?

Not a criticism, just a genuine observation but are we really full circle back to panniers now?! Sometimes the bike industry makes me despair, I thought Tailfin (or maybe it was Apidura) were pushing for the aero impact of panniers and why you needed a saddlebag instead. It’s wild. I just don’t get how rucksacks were completely ruled out too, then all of a sudden lots of gear brand sponsored ultra cyclists suddenly started wearing trail running style bags in long distance races and they are now “essential”.

Speaking as somebody that rode 1000 miles with a Topeak pannier bag and rack, though longed for a more bag based setup and couldn’t afford the likes of Tailfin (it was fine btw)….

You’ve got a really nice setup and hoping you have many great miles, my comment is more on the industry than anything else!
