Hello all, I'm currently planning a 6 day trip, which will more or less start from Oxford, pass by Stonehenge over the "old chalk way", as much as possible on gravel or at least quiet roads.

I'm now trying to map the road from Devon, passing by Exeter to reach Land's End. Does anyone have any tips? recommended sights, places to keep away to close to? Does the drawn path make sense (the latter is mostly out of Komoot)

Thanks for any suggestion!

  1. Don’t know down in Cornwall so I won’t mention that but to get from Exeter to the border I’d say there’s 3 main options:
    1) roughly what you have there, fine roads up to Okehampton then follow granite way, probably quickest and easiest. The granite way is nice and interesting.
    2) go over Dartmoor. Big hills but very nice over the moor(assuming the wind isn’t a head wind)
    3) south of Dartmoor, hillier than the northern route and all on roads, albeit nice ones. Nice towns like Ashburton, interesting Abby at buckfast. Once near Plymouth you could take the ferry to mount edgecombe (then follow the coast in Cornwall) or head up the plym valley trail to wherever you want to cross to Cornwall.
