Things get harder and sh*t hits the fan! As our bikepacking trip through Finland continues, we face fatigue, a horde of horse flies (I am NOT exaggerating I promise) and a magic lake in the middle of the forest. Come along for two beginner cyclists trying their best at cycling over 100 km a day.

  1. Kanava meni tilaukseen jo ekasta jaksosta 😅
Hauska meno ja kattella mitä löydätte kaupasta vegaanina kun ite kasvissyöjä , jäätelö ja suklaa on perus elintarvike 😅

  2. As an oldtimer looking back, best advice I can give for fatigue is – ride to work every day you can (way cheaper parking!) and start building in the longer ways to work. Next time you go touring, you'll go twice as far with half the pain. And so on.

  3. Long distance cyclist from Liechtenstein here.

    I average about 120km a day, up to 205km a day..

I start very early in the day when it's the coldest, take a bunch of breaks, espeacially around noon.

Ride 2 hours, take a 30min break, reapeat.

I also eat mostly protein and fat which will keep your blood sugar levels pretty consistant throughout the day. A vegan diet is pretty tough for high intensity sports, since you eat mostly carbs that will give you huge spikes and carb crashes.

  4. DON'T rely solely on Google Maps.

I like Komoot for planning bike routes. I use it together with Google Maps when some routes seem sketchy.

  5. You both are such fun traveling companions! I used to do bike trips in my 20's and 30's.I'm vicariously travelling along with you on this one. Thank you for the entertaining journey. Finland looks beautiful!
