Looking for a compliant comfortable ride while I admire the view 😀. I’ve spent the last 45yrs on a drop handlebar bike, have never owned a mountain bike or a bike with suspension. Looking for gearing to protect my dodgy knees and a relaxed riding position.
Currently in the running are the [Salsa Cutthroat GX AXS Eagle](https://www.thewoodscyclery.co.uk/shop/uncategorised/gravel-bikes/salsa-cutthroat-c-gx-axs-eagle/) or the [Giant Revolt X Advanced Pro 1](https://www.bicyclechain.co.uk/shop/bikes/sub/adventure-gravel/giant-revolt-x-advanced-pro-1-24086127/option/) with Rock Shox.
Or do I go for something different (for me) like the [Sonder Broken Road XT](https://alpkit.com/products/sonder-broken-road-xt)
Any thoughts appreciated. I should be able to arrange a test ride of the Sonder and Giant in the next couple of months. Not certain about the Salsa.

I would not want a bike with electric shifting like the Salsa and the Giant looks more like a bike for entering the Tour Divide race than taking it easy.
Sonder has weak forks vs the rest of the specification, Recon RL (the cheaper silver version as they would say if it was the gold) is a fork found on other bikes for less than half the price and has a decent weight penalty vs the sort of forks you’d expect at this sort of tier (Reba or Revelation with Rock Shox). Also the slack head angle is not what I would choose for something like this.
