In my experience, those Tektro Oryx cantis are some of the better canti options out there. If you’re having poor performance, they may not be setup correctly, or you could have something going on with your rims.

If its squealing and have uneven performance, that’s often user error. Cantis are pain to set up. Vbrakes should work and easier to set up

Shimano CX cantis, or Tektro mini-vs

How old are the pads? They get hard and stop working.

My old cross bike has campagnolo cantilevers. I thought they really had great stopping power compared to anything comparable I had ridden previously.

Full size v brakes with travel adjusters
Never had better braking or less hassle than when I was running avid ultimate v-brakes with travel adjusters and s900 levers.
These are fine. Upgrade to eagle Claw/kool stop. Make sure your rim is true and the pads are slightly toed in. Also make sure you cables have a clear route and are catching on anything.

There’s nothing wrong with Tektro Onyx cantis. Just need new brake pads and clean the rim.

Get new cables and pads for your old brake system. You will smile at the results and save enough money to buy many, many, many, coffees.

Because you don’t have to worry about clearing big tires, mini Vs are probably the best option here.
The reason your braking performance isn’t good here though doesn’t have anything to do with these specific brake arms. It is because your link wire is too long for good performance. With low profile arms like these, the shortest link wire you can get away with, the more power you will have. Try a pair of size A link wires.
As always, it’s good to run high quality pads like Kool Stop. The stock pads that come with these Oryx brakes don’t have a good reputation.

I think this is the best option for larger tires and drop bars. https://avt.bike/products/paul-components-minimoto-brake?variant=15205737857090
