  1. Biking in Amsterdam is not for beginners haha i feel like unless you plan to bike in a less crowded area I wouldn’t recommend tourists try it unless they’re already really good bikers back home 😅

  2. Little tip: Dont use or hold your phone in your hand when biking in Amsterdam/the Netherlands, because you will be fined by the police.

  3. 18 euros a day, these companies are scamming people. Fir any tourists, you can rent a bike at amsterdam central station and some other stations too, waaay cheaper

  4. I bought my first bike for 5 euros in 2014 to a guy that just stole it here in the Netherlands. I got it stolen from the station years and years later but I was using it as a spare bike so I consider it part of the cycle of life.

  5. You like to live dangerously. As tourist in Amsterdam, always wear head protection to begin with. This signals, "I'm a tourist." People use bicycles to get somewhere, in the Netherlands. Don't ride around in a way that slows down the flow of natural local traffic.
Walk to busy points and observe the flow rate, cadence. Learn the road signs. Note that bikers violate rules, frequently. Which can cause collisions, and between bikers too.
With head protection, you are the odd one out and you may hope locals may ride defensively rather than their normal asserive-offensive driving.
