Hi, I am installing a Senicx PR3 crankset on a road bike with a 68 mm BSA shell.
Setup:
• Frame: 68 mm BSA road
• BB: Shimano SM-BBR60 (also tried another HTII BB, the one in the pics, same result)
• Crankset: Senicx PR3 24 mm spindle
• No spacers installed
When I insert the drive side crank, everything slides in fine, but the spindle only protrudes about 17 mm on the non-drive side.
The left crank arm seems to bottom out before fully seating on the splines. Off the bike, the left arm slides fully onto the spindle, so it looks like the total stack width might be too large or the spindle slightly short.
If the spindle were ~3 to 4 mm longer, it looks like it would fit correctly.
Questions:
- Is ~17 mm of exposed spindle normal for this crankset?
- Has anyone run the PR3 with a standard Shimano road BB successfully?
- Could this crank require narrower BB cups?
Thanks!
