  1. Take it to your local giant dealer or at least a decent bike repair to adjust these cables. They’re so terribly assembled that I’d be worried about other parts too.

  2. I assume they’re giving you some slack so you have the option of adjusting your cockpit. It’s a lot easier to shorten cables that are already routed than to re-run them completely if they’re too short.

  3. If you’re wanting to run them that tight, you’ll have to cut and pull them through. It will always come from the factory with some extra room like it is currently

Is the ideal photo of a SRAM AXS build? Looks like only one cable coming from each shifter (brake line) and the dropper cable. However, to OPs point the front brake hose in the photo is internally routed vs the bike received. I think OP needs to check the group components ordered vs what they were looking at.

  5. not overreacting at all 🙂 i prefer super tidy cable setups and this would bug me too. that said, this won’t affect the ride, its just for looks.

most factory assembled bikes, as well as local bike shop assembled bikes, have poorly trimmed and tidied cables. they’re trying to do quantity over quality.

that said, you can either go have a shop trim cables for you or learn to do it yourself. do know that trimming brake lines, if those are hydraulic, require a bleed in most cases, which means a shop may charge a fee for that as well.
