Super excited to have picked this up for $200 yesterday. Would love to hear your thoughts or any lore about these bikes! Ideas for upgrades/ tips/ anything!
Awesome buy! Doesn’t look like it needs much at all. I’d be looking at the contact points. All butts are different but that saddle doesn’t look comfortable. It’ll stop better with some kool stop pads. If the current tires are worn or dry those could be upgraded too.

Its looks great! Probably new tires, wider knobby gravel kind of tires and a more comfy saddle? Im thinking about getting one of these for vacations with light packing and some offroading. Do you think its a suitable bike for that?

That’s awesome, I like those Trek 700.
I would put on a Shimano 105 and some 20/24 wheels, but the plot twist would be a 90’s riser handlebar.

Nice! You can fit a 45mm tire without fenders or 40mm with.
Great bike – I’ve got the same fun color scheme. Agree: start with contact points. Ride it and see what you like / dislike and go from there. Nice find!

Those gun metal matrix wheels look cool but they are boat anchors. A modern set of wheels wakes these bikes up and makes them feel like new.
