    Yes, it will work. I’m sure you’ll get some comments on steel frames and you’ll need to figure out your bag/storage set-up, but folks have traveled long and far on bikes not nearly as ‘nice’ as that.

    Bikepacking is very individual, so you have to figure out which setup, gear, etc. suits you.
    Your frame has mounting points on the back, so you can install a rack with panniers. Additionally you can mount a framebag and a handlebar bag. That’s theoretically enough storage for “long distance” bikepacking in my opinion.
    The most important upgrades would enable you to ride in a position in which you can stay in the saddle for long hours and many days (saddle and handlebar setup). Everything else is a bonus.
