Bought a bike for about ~3,500 usd. Rimbrake Cipollini frame with Fizik handlebars and saddle. Equipped with dura ace di2 R9150 11speed. with Zipp 404 firecrest, wheels are unused and new (but old model).

Total bike weight about 7.3kg with bottle cage and look pedals. Just wondering if this was a good deal, already made the purchase without doing much survey or research.

    Planning to start cycling.

  2. yikes.

I mean a bike is worth whatever you are willing to pay for it, I’d never pay that much for a rim brake bike in 2026.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome bike, but it’s not particularly boutique or anything that would jutsify that price imo, espeically for 11 speed Di2

    Also are those tubulars?

  3. $3,500 USD goes a long way these days. While this is definitely a racing weapon, I wouldn’t be riding a rim brake bike on carbon wheels due to braking performance.

I just really hope it fits you well, as it is configured extremely aggressively (slammed stem, long stem, etc).

  4. “Probably” if you evaluate it based on parts. Personally, 3500 could get a new or slightly used bike that will meet or exceed performance, comfort and convenience

Nope. It was top of the line stuff and still is a very good bike. However technology has cought up especially with brakes and tires/wheels. It is/was an awesome bike but not worth this amount of money anymore. Also geometry wise cipollini can be quite extreme (very long and low, which suits me fine but is really not for most) and as the stem is already slammed and chopped there is barely room for any adjustment. Awesome bike but lots of caveats.

  6. No.
I had a similar bike for sale a few months ago.
At the lowest I had it listed for $2000, zero people contacted me, and ended up selling to an online reseller for $1950.

If you like it I would offer no more than $2000. It’s all old tech that very few people want. If anything the bike is worth more parted out.

  7. You can buy pretty decent new bike for that incl carbon frame, disc brakes and electronic shifting
That gives you warranty for a year or two also
