  1. The wheel looks great, but the tire does not appear to be seated. Deflate it, push both beads to the center channel, smear hand sanitizer or soapy water all the way around on both sizes. Then re-inflate until you hear the beads pop into place.

It looks like your tire isn’t fully on the bead, have a look at the shallow area and check the tire is fully popped out. The fix is to inflate the tire until it pops on, you can sometimes manually pull it if you’re worried about tire pressure.

I’ve had one snap in while riding which I cannot recommend

Yup, check where it’s bumpy now. Deflate, centre tyre bead in middle of wheel, paying attention to where the bumpy bit was, reinflate until your hear the tyre seat all the way around. Sometimes people hear one pop and think they are done. Usually two for my wheels, possibly three with new tyre

  4. To add to others, the last time I bought new tires, it took not only soapy water but also pushing in pressure that exceeded the tire’s maximum recommended PSI to get the last bit to seat.

Things didn’t use to be like this when I started cycling…
