A sunny-looking ride that turned out to be tougher than expected thanks to Dartmoor’s fierce winds. From smooth trails to headwinds that push you to your limits, join me as I navigate the challenges of winter cycling across the moors.

Highlights include:

– Exploring Plymouth City, the Plym Valley Trail, and Drake’s Trail
– The climb out of Tavistock onto Dartmoor
– Battling strong winds and learning how weather can turn a ride into a real test

  1. Ah – that nasty little hill (especially with the cattle grid 3/4 the way up it)!!! You can just stay on the Plymbridge trail all the way to Clearbrook and then a much less severe hill to get on the level of Yelverton. Got to say though – Thatss one good ride!!

  2. I only found your channel about a month ago and I’m completely hooked. You actually ride in my local area, so it’s awesome seeing familiar roads and climbs pop up in your videos. Makes the content hit differently — keep it up!

  3. Ridden that route many times with my late father, up the hill, staying on the trail after it was laid and even as part of the Devon C2C. I now occasionally bring my bike down on visits to my stepmum and ride up to Yelverton with a few of his cycling buddies for a coffee at Scarlett's Kitchen. I'd also recommend Bob's Café in the Pannier Market for a bacon roll.
