Admittedly, the gravel section was minimal. We started just outside Hamburg, and the route was supposed to be 185km. The thermometer read -5 degrees Celsius. It felt like -10. We managed 100 kilometers. After a mechanical problem with the bottom bracket on my fellow cyclist's bike, we had to take the train for the last stretch. At that point, we also encountered wind gusts of up to 45km/h, which was already pushing it! Freezing cold! I think 99% of cyclists wouldn't have even attempted the route that day… but we were still proud, and upon arrival, we went straight to the sauna to warm up!

Wow, be proud of yourself! 100 km in sub-zero temperatures is no joke. Last week I did 25 km in −2 °C and God knows how I survived the ride home!
Went for a 110km 1000m ALT ride with avg -1 degree, after 3h i just kept on sprinting so my body got warmer.. with no effect. It was pretty hard, won´t do it again.
But the shower afterwards were the best 10min of 2025 🙂
Jfc I did a 45F ride in California and it sucked hard. That’s like 3 other levels
