My new suntour wipers arrived but i see that i ordered the wrong ones. Testing it i can use the wiper as a press fit but that would mean that i have to ditch the plastic. Is this an option or should i just take the L

That sleeve is the guide bushing for the stanchions, so if you omit it, your fork legs will be moving side to side and front to back.
