  1. On SRAM DUB cranks, the non drive side crank arm WILL be fully open. This is the way it was designed.

    Only time I’ve seen the non drive side covered is when you are using a Left handed power meter

  2. Yes, it’s supposed to be that way. Tubular, hollow spindles have been a thing for quite some time.

    You might be used to Shimano cranks, where there’s a preload cap on that side. But SRAM cranks have the spindle permanently attached to the non-drive side crank, and adjustment is done from the drive side.

  3. Not anymore than any other bike. Water will get into your bb bearing 10 different ways before it leaks from the inside of the spindle. A non issue really.
