Have hardly ridden my old road bike the last few years. Was going to take her out for a spin, but needed new bar tape. When I pulled back the hood covers I saw this crack. Do I need to replace the whole brifter?
Seriously, it’s cracked and could break at any time.

If you ride in the drops, that’s a lot less of an issue than the other guy is making out.

Happened to me to. Over torqued, get a torque wrench so it won’t happen again. Put this shifter on your indoor training bike.

I dealt with that for an entire season before I finally swapped them out for peace of mind. You should definitely reach out to SRAM for a warranty claim, though they really ought to cover this.

This feels like exactly what jbweld is for, but of course it would be best to replace it.
