🚨 NEW UK E-BIKE LAW: 48 Hours and Your Bike Could Be Crushed! 🚨
The UK government just introduced a massive update to e-bike laws—and it’s catching riders off guard. Under the new 48-hour rule, your e-bike or e-moto can be seized and destroyed within just two days if it’s being used antisocially… even if you haven’t committed a crime.

In this video, I break down:
✅ What the 48-hour e-bike seizure rule is
✅ Why the police and Home Office brought it in
✅ Real examples from cities like London, Gwent & Manchester
✅ What riders like YOU need to know to avoid losing your bike
✅ The surprising ways this affects both legal and illegal e-bikes

Whether you’re riding a Surron, Talaria, or any tuned-up e-bike or e-moto, this affects YOU. Don’t get caught out by this sudden crackdown.

  1. There going after motorbikes aswell, if you have helmet on and you have the ability to evade the police and you can't be tracked with facial recognition your deemed a crimminal as in one size fits all.

  2. Bit easier to control e-bikes than it is to stop people arriving on our coast. That is a much harder task than people think it is if you look into it, especially since Brexit. France has no obligation to stop people crossing.

I understand that we don’t know who is coming into the country but to think they are worse than any one else doesn’t make sense. Do you think people risking their lives to make a better life for themselves have got crime on their mind. Most criminals would just commit crime where they live and wouldn’t bother risking their lives. If you have contrary facts I’d love to hear it.

  3. In the 60’s , you owned a motorcycle, you were a tocker and if you had a scooter you were. Mod…. 60 years later, the mentality is still ingrained-
So if you ride an e bike…. You’re a thug …that’s it, same as if your a politician, you are a total wan*er and if your in the police your a bully ……

  4. ik alot of criminals ibsr and ik for a fact most of the people stealing phones are on stolen bikes mopeds and the drug dealers are in fake plated stolen cars or legal cars, these criminals cannot afford these bikes simple as that its a money making scheme the money cant be made through stolen bikes and cars because there not worth nothing

  5. What a load of rubbish your information at the end should have been stated in the beginning, then all the talking afterwards would have been irrelevant just a diatribe against the police who are doing their job

  6. We cannot do anything about illegal immigrants because Tony Blair and Gordon Brown's laws gave the civil service free rein, answering to no one, not even elected government officials or ministers, they run the show, not those who people elect into government.

If a home secretary butts heads with any civil service employees, it's the race card used against them, so the Tories used an Asian home secretary to do this, then they get accused of bullying and removed from their jobs.

We lost democracy after the Blair & Brown governments back in the early 2000s

We lost democracy, it's why they are powerless to stop them watch trigger nomitary, and it's not about science interview, it gives a peak into it tied up in these laws. Is ECHR, which blocks every government attempt to remove a Rapist, a murderer, or a career criminal immigrant.

These laws need to be repealed for any government to gain control back but going ID cards is an even worse slippery slope

Climate change is just a hastened bankruptcy for the UK economy. 0.8% makes zero difference, and creates even more CO2 because we then import it all from China, which is building new coal power plants each month.
We have a government not working from science but from an ideology that will destroy us all as we are not seeing 4 x the energy bills we used to have because of the stealth taxes that are placed upon our utility bills to fund green energy that spends most of its time turned off for ⅔ of its time

  7. Dumb idea but…
Why not keep ""ALL"" the papers needed for that in your chest pouch/ for those who don't have one, why not get one?
Also, some Ebikes have a little room for storage.
For example, I ride an Evoque streetster, the battery compartment has enough room to hold the charger with more than enough room to put the needed documents.
Just my two cents on the matter.

  8. @southcoastsurron I am curious about the legalities of the battery when they are confiscating bikes. Surely even if they are stating the bike is illegal until proved otherwise, the battery would not be illegal if it is clearly not a custom made one etc

  9. I really dont get it, the power of the bike should not matter as you need extra power to get up hills, i do think the speed limit matters.
How ever at 15.5 mph its not enough, i own a totaly legal ebike and i get loads of normal pedel bikes passing me.
Also what about these race bikes that keep up with my car at 30mph and faster!
My opinion is the ebikes should be limited to 20mph with what ever wattage you want.

  10. It's like everything else in this country I have a ebike myself only 250 wat conversion kit one doe the job for me. I also have a interest in slingshot shooting but because of idiots breaking laws with them like shooting whild life in parks, they are thinking of licencing them, these kind of idiots should be jailed for a long time or a big fine ,not spoiling it for everyone who is sensible 😮

  11. The narrative that e-bikes are primarily tools for crime is ridiculous. While bad actors exist, for most people, these bikes are a
legitimate and essential mode of transport. For me personally, an e-bike isn't a luxury; it’s an accessibility tool. I struggle with
walking for extended periods, and the cost of a car and insurance is prohibitive. A legal, 250w e-bike would offer me freedom
    — allowing me to navigate the city or even take backroads to the beach—without breaking the law or the bank.

  13. I'm only looking to ride my ebike on the roads when going from my house to some private land a couple miles away from me. If I unplugged the throttle and got a limiter fitted to 250w, 15.5mph and PAS only would it be legal? I've been told technically it would be along as it can't be changed mid ride (you have to take the limiter off manually aka unplug, change profile, etc which would make it obvious to police if your stopped.) I have a 2000w 52v and a 2000w 60v. Both are mine and custom built, they are only used to for having a bit of fun when my mates come over. But I don't want to get it seized. I just don't want to lose a couple grands worth of stuff taken just cuz it can go 40+mph even though I'm only going 15.5mph on peddle assist 😂.

  14. people are nuts in the uk regarding cyclists in general. apparently its not ok now to even ride a pedal bike at 15mph on an actual bike path. passed these muppets with two dogs running about off the lead. i cycled past and one of the stupid shts dashed in front so i had to jam on my brakes. hit it fairly gently it was ok. so of course even though dogs should be on a short lead on public paths, as stated in highway code, [as should young children] i was in the wrong for going a paltry 15mph, even though i saved their dog by my good reactions. and of course the fact it might have caused me to fall didnt cross their tiny minds. they were adamant dogs dont need to be on leads on bike paths as were some other dog walkers, and the safety of their dog or kid is the cyclists responsibility. im carrying my highway code in future. such is the rabid hate and irrational fear of all cyclists [but cars are fine even though cars kill about 500 people a year] and inability to integrate with cyclists in a sensible, non paranoid way in the uk, [i mean, dont go out if your scared of push bikes, ffs] i wouldnt be surprised if all bikes were banned by the car industry i mean government soon. farage will jump at the chance to please his daily mail, karen and gammon voters

  15. This leads onto another question , does this mean if your e-bike is stolen will the police help you retrieve it ? Say if you have a tracking device on the bike and you call the police to help you go get the bike does that then mean they will take it any way 😂

  16. My bike is not registered on the road so doesn’t need an MOT ? Maybe insurance but it’s a twist and go so it would come under a motorised vehicle so would I need mot and insurance ? I see so many mixed reviews but then a video of a police officer lifting the back wheel off the floor and he said if the wheel spins without help of pedals and you can just twist and go then it’s Illegal? So I’m guessing mot and insurance ain’t gunna change the fact the bike will be taken off the road as it’s illegal ?

  17. If your ebike is legal, what's the problem? If it's not legal, then it shouldn't be on the public highways, it's illegal & if you're breaking the law then face the consequences!

  18. I got a cheapy e-bike, yep it can be programmed to do 23mph. At 23mph its range is greatly reduced but it's more fun.
After hearing the issues with police and legality, I have chickened out and reduced it back to 15mph which is only possible on the flat.
It will be unreasonable if I had to get it registered and insured, it makes it an expensive, uneconomical slow means of transport.
More profitable if you are qualified and proficient in grabbing mobile phones but I don't see many injuries if you hit anyone with a fold up bike with 20 X 2inch wheels.
