Regrettably reddit's downscaling and conversion of the title image (in my "My first Brompton" post) introduced sufficient blurring to take the fun out of the first entry in the list of pimping items.
Apparently I have been ignoring this message for at least 17 years.

I suspect it’s quite old Brooks used to do quite a lot for Bromptons pre selle Italia buyout.
After 7 years it’s unusable to anyone else but myself after shaping perfectly to my rump!
Still smells of pure leather!!!
