Hi,

I just got these 100% photochromic sunglasses and noticed something weird with the tint.

At the bottom of the lens, the photochromic tint seems to stop very sharply. You can clearly see a line where the lens suddenly becomes lighter (circled in the photo).

Is this normal for 100% photochromic lenses, or does it look like a defect?

Thanks!

  1. I have the same frame, non photochromatic though. It maybe some kind of touch protection as you can change the lenses in this frame? Might be worth a YouTube search for a review or promo to see it shows there?

  2. I’ve seen something like this happen to my photochromic lenses when only a portion of the lenses is exposed to sunlight. Try exposing them fully to UV for a bit and see if that changes its appearance.

That happens if you leave a part of the lens in the sun and a part of the lens **not** in the sun. Main reseal I hate those type of glasses.

  4. Is that so you can read instruments on your handlebars? Some of my sunglasses have considerably lighter shading at the bottom portion.

  5. More photo – more chromic and vice versa, so different photo – different chromic. I’ve had my photochromic glasses partly shaded and they darkend to different levels.

  6. Expose the whole thing to sunlight for a while and see if the tint changes. I thought my pair had a cracked lens, but nope! A hair had fallen over them while I was riding. They darkened normally after I brushed the hair away.
