Both are awful. The one on the right just means (at least in my country) that drivers don’t need to abide by 1,5m required distance when overtaking. At that point I might have a separate lane but cars are even closer to be than if there was none.
Shared roads aren’t common here. There are a few here and there but not too many. At least where I ride. The arrows on the road legally don’t mean anything for the driver or the cyclist but at least the arrow are always on the right of the road and not so much in the middle like in the picture.

Some of these are just as much the result of pro cycling groups and politicians trying to pump their numbers. I live in NY and they brag about bike-ways going all of the way north to Canada. Over half of it is on road and a significant portion of it is simply just a sign put on the side of a 55mph state highway.
