I bought this bike yesterday for €60. It has been sitting in a shed for 23 years. According to the seller it's roughly from 1980.
I put new brake cables and tyres on it. I serviced the headset and front hub already (cleaned it out, inspected the bearings, reassembled with new grease). I have a new chain, but I can't take of the old chain because the tool I have only works for thinner 7+ speed chains.
I've ridden it in it's current state for a few km to uni and back and to the grocery store and back, it rides great other than the saddle being very uncomfortable 😅
Now my main question for this community:
I'd like to service the bottom bracket (there is no play, but it's not turning as smoothly as I'd want). But I don't know how to disasemble this one. It looks different than the ones I've seen on Youtube. I see a big nut on the non-drive side, but I don't see what I would need to do on the drive side. What tool do I need for this bb and how do I remove it?
