Does anyone here know if the medium cage XT 1×12 derailleur can shift onto the 45t cog without contacting the rim/tire/ground on bikes with 20" (406 ERD)? None of the local shops have one in stock right now, so I can't just pick one up to experiment. looking at pictures, it looks like it might work.

how wide is your tire?
here is a 20″ with a 41t low gear and a deore 5130 derailleur. the jockey pulley is already at the rim when full extended.
looks like you are going to have to just give it a shot and see what happen. But again, not really confident that it will be a trouble free set up
