Wrexham’s rise from non-league to one step away from the Premier League has been unprecedented. You might believe it’s all down to money, and you’d be partially correct. But it’s not in the way you might presume.
This is how Wrexham make money.

Incredible video
Am I understanding this correctly. So, by EO 2023 they had put in £12. But by Sep 24, they pulled out £15m?
How to buy a football club for nothing.
The Premier League is way to much of a stretch. Wrexham will do very well to establish a berth in the Championship.
America will ruin football, trust me
I appreciate the detail in this video. I do have to ask this, honestly, did people think it was direct injection and revenue from the marketing doc that did it? Merch and sponsorhsip and a ceiling/plateau/obstacle at Championship level has been the visible strategy from the start.
Based on their current squad and transfer activity, they are 0% to get another promotion next season.
I know people love to complain about them because of money but three straight promotions is still impressive
A fever dream for any local supporter. What an incredible success Wrexham have been – both on and off the pitch.
I'm curious to how loyal they are to Phil Parkinson. They got a manager who was clearly above the level they were at, but now is getting into untested territory.
What would be a good target for Wrexham this season?
national league isnt semi pro is it? cos they make bank still
I'm afraid that back to back to back to back will happen, then it shows that to succeed u need money & good governance.
Please look at Sheffield Wednesday
Cant beat the a league tho ..
I'd like a similar video about Birmingham who have also massively grown their commercial revenue massively after American investment without the documentary.
The next 2/3 years will be the most difficult. Realistically, getting promotion should beyond them, but will "standing still" keep people with a newer interest in Wrexham invested, or will that interest fall off.
It’s Sir Rob Mac to you
Chelsea has one of the craziest roller coaster of a season, still no tifo video about it.
Think their style of play suits the Championship. 3 at the back, direct and long balls / crosses when most teams favour possession and playing out the back. They could surprise this season.
Bournemouth and Brighton have done this, so why not Wrexham?
0:00 – 0:10
“…what is…oh it’s a scarf”
it's Rob Mac now LOL
That voice change haha 2:15
Top tier content
What semi professional league were Wrexham in?
The money keeps moving, in a circle!
I see Wrexham in Football Manager now and then.
We tend to forget, particularly with British sport in all aspects. America is a huge contributor. You have seen that particularly with formula one but of course they been doing it for years with Premier football clubs?
Buy the Premier League you're a monster. Buy the National League you're a hero.
Absolutely love the business side of football.
The mispronunciation of SToK cold brew tell me that Joe Devine has never watched Welcome to Wrexham…
What does "money was raised" mean, please? Debt, or selling shares? Thanks!
Ahhh, so you’re telling me it’s not all just the money! Instead, it’s more like: it’s the money, it’s complicated, it’s the money, marketing, it’s the money, business, etc. Sounds like it’s just the money to me!
it would be an absolute miracle if they make it to the PL next season
What a fairytale. All the Athletic readers and their boyfriends are thrilled about this on BlueSky.
we hate chester and we hate chester we hate chester and we hate chester
STŌK is pronounced “stoke” which is a play on words based on the genx phrase “I’m stoked” meaning to be excited, and is also abstractly a way caffeine can make humans feel. The logo even has the phonetic accent on top to indicate it’s pronounced with a long-A.
That is interesting
The documentary series has been instrumental in educating a global audience of how the inner workings of how running a football club in the EFL works.
when people talk about them being a fairy tale, please. it is not
This amazing, thank you.
