Huhhh??? U need to mount that drain line from the dishwasher higher then the drain hole u der the sink. That line was as straight as possible making the water be able to return back into the dishwasher. Otherwards u need to make a gravity type of trap.
im the appliance guy youre talking about. the first thing i always check when a dw isnt draining is the drain line. and making sure the plug is knocked out of the disposal
The DW drain is looped, between the DW and the cabinet. You can't see it. I see no way an air gap is being used. The reason for the clog is in your video….the drain going into the disposal is sagging, causing gunk to build in the sag. This will also create massive odors when the standing water inside the goes into disposal. Solution: tie drain going into disposal higher than the disposal so the water drains dry.
Instead of using a shop-vac on that drain line, you can use a "blow bag" which is an expandable rubber hose end that increases in diameter and forces increased water pressure into a drain.
If you don't bracket that dishwasher line higher than the disposal itself, it will siphon water from your garbage disposal into your dishwasher and cause your dishwasher to not drain properly. Also, making sure your dishwasher is level can help solve issues as well. Tips 😛
If my sink is draining through my dishwasher, does that mean that my sink has a clog or that there’s a leak in my dishwasher hose so the pressure goes out the dishwasher versus down my sink
mine stopped draining and this is the first vid I see and they have the exact same one as me and the same clean/dirty magnet 🤣 can’t figure mine out, lines are open, impeller isn’t broke/jammed so idk now haha
Great idea with the shop vac. I’ve used my mini air compressor to blow from the DW drain to the open drain line into a bucket a bunch of times as well for similar effect. Really works good on commercial units you can’t get to one side or the other. Couple quick full pressure blasts and off you go. Thanks for the video.
I just learned over the weekend how to fix my dishwasher through trial and error, Cut the main power to the house, Took the pump off from the bottom and behold, there was a piece of broken glass that made it through and was preventing the pump from spinning, Taking it out was easy and the dishwasher runs as good as new.
My dishwasher was down for a year after realizing no one gonna help me but me I got on YouTube and this was the first video to pop up. Thanks to you I found the issue! My hose was clogged at the end where it meets the disposal.
Yep. Worked right off the bat. After I cleaned the main filter and unhooked the electric from the secondary filter, scraped it out with a tiny drill bit and re-inserted the lost washer back on. She’s rolling. Thanks bruv 🤘
So you charge money for what the husband already has done? That is respectful! Changing a drain pump is something (hopefully) my 7year old can do! Use google and Ai!

Thanks!!
I've just come here to say something nice about how you cleaned that filter
Actually, a dishwasher is a dish rinser. It doesn't actually wash the dishes. It just rinses the dishes. Think about it.
Suds
Always check to make sure the knock out was removed from the disposal. Especially if it was " recently installed by a professional. "
That will be $200 sir
Well done
That dishwasher was filthy, yuck. I clean my dishwasher with solutions that looses calcium regularly.
Very good diagnosis!
That’s exactly what I do myself.
In other words, you charged him an arm and a leg to rinse out a filter and "vacuum out" his drain line. I'm sure the guy was thoroughly ripped off!

Seeing how the plumbing is wrong, I can understand there being problems

That filter needs to be cleaned at least once a week.
Good tip, well done
It’s incredibly simple to fix pump

Thanks for this. I fixed mine

Bravo, I don't like 'em to beat me either, bucket head vac the line!!! My cuz can get ya a pump…lol
My man coming through with the shop shop vac drain line clear! If it wasn’t for that I’d have this dishwasher half torn apart.
Shorts at their best here
Great clear instruction and explanation- so helpful, thx!🧼

Hose is clear, filter is clear. Installed a 2nd dishwasher and same issue still. No idea what's wrong
At that point, I've found it's either the pump not working, or the float switch is so gunked up it no longer moves freely.
