Really pleased about this. I have witnessed shoplifting from a few different branches and it makes me so sad to see how upset and stunned the staff are. Also there are often kids and elder people who see this and it is just not pleasant. I hope this reduces the shoplifting attempts now. They deserve better, they’re just trying to do their jobs.
It’s about time. Because why should I pay in full like a normal person when thieves can just come in and take what they want for free?

I was in a Gregs once n I sat there for about 35-40 mins n saw about 3 shoplifters take things n walk including a teenager who lifted the warm counter n took pastries
How this was possible I don’t know. N I know the employees aren’t allowed to run after them to protect themselves 😢
Tbh Greggs robbing us I paid around 8-9 pounds for 3 items last week only I overheard employee at back probably to colleague saying he must have money to buy that the reason why I shopped there was it was nearest to site I was working and can claim back 7.5p from company

They revamped a few years back. Got rid of the local shop where u were served the food over a counter by long term staff members known to locals. Now there’s no heart in them n they’re being robbed
A few months back I went into Greggs opened the fridge and took what I wanted including a cheese salad baguette. No shame. These corporations charge insane prices so how are people supposed to survive?
